Vin Diesel: Facebook Owes Me Billions of Dollars

Someone is apparently team Winklevoss. Forget the entire story of "The Social Network," actor Vin Diesel is claiming that he's the reason behind the worldwide success of the social networking site Facebook, telling the site’s creator, Mark Zuckerberg, to pay up. “Fast & Furious 6” star Vin Diesel, 45, joked in an interview on Friday that he believes he's the reason for Facebook’s success, telling Entertainment Weekly that the company owes him for bringing the site to the attention of his 40 million fans. “Facebook used to ask me to come up to their office to explain what the f—k I was doin and why I had so many fans … Facebook really owes me billions of dollars. But whatever,”Diesel said. The actor claims that his refusal to allow others to speak on behalf of him on the site is what caused him to become the first public figure to gain one million followers in 2009, when the only other public figure with the same number of fans on Facebook was U.S. President Barack Obama. “What was unique was: I never let anyone do a post, I never let anyone post for me in the last four years,” Diesel said. “I became the No. 1 page in the world. Over Coca-Cola, over huge companies and it was only because I said: ‘Hi, guys, I love you.’”

‘Fast & Furious 7′ Will Retire (Not Kill) Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor

‘Fast & Furious 7′ Will Retire (Not Kill) Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor
In what is probably the most obvious piece of a news to come out this year (so far), Universal has decided that yes, as most of us surmised, in order to continue with Fast & Furious 7 they need a viable workaround for the late Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor, without hitting too close to Walker’s actual death as a result of a high-speed sports car crash. Hard to do in a Fast & Furious movie.

Surprise, surprise, that solution has now been officially settled upon: Brian O’Connor will get a happier ending than Paul Walker did.

THR reports that F&F7 director James Wan and writer Chris Morgan are tweaking the script in a way that they can use what footage of Walker they already shot (about half the film), while also creating a send off for Walker’s character Brian that would still allow the franchise to continue. The film has currently been pushed back to April 10, 2015 to allow the cast time to grieve and the necessary changes to be made.

Fast & Furious 7 Release Date

Add caption

Fast and the Furious staple Vin Diesel broke the news that Universal wants Fast & Furious 7 in theaters by Summer 2014, and now the actor and studio have jointly confirmed their plan by announcing the movie’s official release date at the ongoing 2013 CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Diesel and Paul Walker are, for certain, returning for the next Fast and the Furious installment, but otherwise it’s not clear who else is secure and onboard cast-wise. However, if the rumors about the Fast & Furious 6 post-credits scene are to be believed, then at least one major newcomer will join the vehicular racing series on its seventh lap (sorry, couldn’t resist).
